History of Unas - Battle of the Gods - South

South

The religious battle for supremacy in the North was long and bloody. To the south the religious battle for supremacy was completely different owing mainly to the great battle between Nathaniel (nephew to Heiden), an angel from Heaven and Abandonan from Hell. This battle is known as the battle of Caer. The southern Kingdoms ruled by different Kings came under terribly tyranny due to Abandonan and his fellow demons, who plagued the lands for a century. The battle of Caer is the best known battle in the history of Calnuthe. Nathaniel and his fellow angels took up home in the Kingdoms of Calnuthe and Taer. Because of the sheer amount of angels that had migrated to Unas it was hard for the original beings to keep on believing in their old religions. There were no bloody wars between Taer and Calnuthe. The demon Abandonan killed the King of Ruarr and took his place upon the throne, spreading violence and hatred throughout the Kingdom. The year 299AS was the year in which the great battle of Caer took place. Nathaniel reigning victorious, defeated Abandonan and his demons and bound the demon to the southern seas for eternity. Myths speak of a sword able to slay immortals, known as Elmos. It is said that it was this very sword that slayed the evil demons, cleaning the Kingdom of Ruarr of its invaders. The King of Calnuthe (King Valdaman) died in battle, childless and heirless. By popular vote, Nathaniel became the High King of the South, marrying the daughter of the newly crowned King Randiar of Ruarr. Nathaniel in return for his greatness and victory was blessed by Heiden, who in turn promised to bless all those of his bloodline with unique powers, thus the garden of Calnuthe was formed, and only those of royal blood could enter and be crowned, thus keeping the crown safe and protected.
